Über Oopbuy
Oopbuy's official help centre describes a standard agent loop: submit a supported product link, pay for the goods, wait for seller-to-warehouse delivery, review the warehouse inspection, then create a waybill for international dispatch. The platform publishes a no-separate-agent-commission model, a generally ¥8 customs declaration fee and separate domestic and international freight. It documents PayPal, international cards, Wise and Klarna as payment options, and a storage policy of 90 normal days, 30 days for abnormal packages and ¥10 per additional 30 days after expiry. On this site we ordered and tested items that were promoted in TikTok videos, then used Oopbuy's fee breakdown and QC images to test how much of each claim could actually be evidenced. The honest answer is partial: the agent proves what was shipped and what it cost, not what the fabric is. The strongest habit is to preserve each handoff, including the source CNY price, the Oopbuy US-dollar display, domestic freight, the customs reference, payment charges, the QC decision and the live shipping quote.
Was gut funktioniert
Official cost components are itemised instead of hidden inside a single agent-fee line, so product price, domestic freight, customs reference and international freight can sit in separate columns
Documented payment routes cover PayPal, international cards, Wise and Klarna, which makes reconciliation easier for buyers paying from different accounts
A 90-day free storage window for normal packages gives time to gather several test items from different sellers before consolidating
Warehouse inspection covers quantity, colour, size and visible specifications, which is usually enough to catch a wrong variant or a missing piece before international dispatch
Was du prüfen solltest
QC photos do not establish fabric composition, GSM, stitching strength or 'same factory' claims; a material claim stays unproven until the item is in your hands
The 5.97 CNY-per-US$1 figure is a dated checkout snapshot, not a locked exchange rate
A live test recorded a 7.09% card-recharge fee, and a forwarding-platform fee of 8% of international shipping may apply where stated; both sit outside the item price
Storage is 90 days for normal packages but 30 days for abnormal or incomplete ones, and extensions are charged per 30-day block
Is Oopbuy legit for a TikTok claim check?
Oopbuy is a real agent with a documented workflow, but its figures are live snapshots rather than fixed rates. On 2026-09-19 the supplied Weidian listing displayed ¥860 as approximately US$143.88 and seller-to-warehouse shipping of ¥15 as approximately US$2.51, which works out at 860 ÷ 143.88 = 5.9772 CNY per US$1. Record both the source and displayed values with the date, and do not treat that snapshot as a guaranteed exchange rate. Legitimacy of the agent is a separate question from legitimacy of the product claim in the video; Oopbuy can evidence what it bought and shipped, not what the seller promised.
Where Oopbuy fits a material-research workflow
Oopbuy's storage page states that normal packages have 90 days from the received status, while packages with abnormal or incomplete receiving information have a 30-day validity period from signed-for status. After the free period, the documented extension is ¥10 per 30 days. That window is what makes the agent useful for claim testing: order one item from a viral video, then order a cheaper comparison from a different seller, and inspect both before deciding which story holds up. Add the status date to the spreadsheet and set a reminder before the deadline so a slow comparison does not turn into a storage fee.
What you actually pay
The official Service & Fees page says the total is product cost plus international shipping and the customs declaration fee, with Chinese domestic freight included on the goods side. It gives ¥8 as a general customs-declaration reference that depends on the shipping method, and optional value-added services cost extra. For a test item, keep the ¥860 product price, ¥15 domestic freight, the displayed US-dollar amounts and the eventual international quote as separate columns, then add the payment-channel charge as its own line. Our live card-recharge test measured 7.09%, but that is a dated observation, not a published permanent rate.
International shipping and the limits of QC
Oopbuy sends the order to its warehouse before international dispatch. Its inspection page says staff verify quantity, colour, size and other visible specifications, remove ordinary outer express packaging and store goods in Oopbuy packaging where appropriate. Colour difference, size error, usage effect, and the quality or model of specialist electronics fall outside the stated inspection scope. Fibre content, fabric weight, hardware metal and stitching durability are not tested either, so the photos tell you whether a plausible item arrived, not whether a viral material claim is true.
How we estimate Oopbuy prices
We use the official Oopbuy estimator for destination, parcel weight and shipping method; the published Charges page links to the estimator rather than promising one universal rate. Compare the live quote with chargeable weight, route restrictions, customs treatment, insurance and delivery estimate, and do not reuse a catalog shipping number for a different parcel. Where a forwarding-platform fee applies it may be stated as 8% of international shipping, which is a different charge from the payment-channel fee and should be logged separately.
