An $7.91 MLB graphic tee is the kind of claim that spreads on TikTok faster than anyone can check it. So we ordered three: 910 black in L, 910 white in L, and 957 black in XL. We filmed the first open, weighed each tee on the calibrated scale at our Southeast Division Street bench, measured the chest and hem flat, and then put one colorway through a single cold wash and a line dry so the second set of numbers meant something.
What the first open actually contained
Each tee arrived folded in a clear polybag with no hanger, no tissue and no care card. The neck label we could read gave the composition as cotton; nothing on the garment or in the listing explained the antibacterial function that appears in the product description. Two of the three parcels carried the same fold pattern, which told us little beyond the fact that they were packed by the same hand on the same day.
The dropdown we counted held 37 entries, not the 40-plus the title implies, and 27 photos to cover them. Most codes exist in both black and white — 910, 907, 908, 909, 915, 916, 926, 927, 929, 940, 950, 952, 956, 957 and the 970 pair. Three do not: 903, 906 and 948 appear in black only. The 969 entries are labelled Year of the Horse in white and black, and the listing never describes that graphic beyond the color name and a geometric print theme.
The cold wash: our numbers, before and after
We washed the 910 white on a cold cycle with a neutral detergent, line dried it indoors, and re-measured 24 hours later. This is the table we built rather than trusting a size chart, because there is no size chart.
| Check | Listing states | Our tape and scale (size L) | Reading |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fabric composition | 100% cotton, main fabric pure cotton | Cotton hand and burn test consistent with cotton | Confirmed |
| Knit weight | 180–250 g band | 196 g black, 191 g white | Inside the band |
| Chest, flat | Not given | 55 cm pit to pit | No stated figure to compare |
| Body length, flat | Not given; 1–2 cm tolerance claimed | 71 cm before, 70.5 cm after one cold wash | Inside tolerance |
| Antibacterial function | Claimed in the description | No supporting tag or treatment note | Unverified |
Half a centimeter of relaxation is what we would expect from an untreated cotton jersey, and it sits comfortably within the 1–2 cm error range the listing allows. It is not the same story as the one care complaint on record, which concerns a different MLB garment entirely. We are not treating one cold wash as proof that this tee will not shrink, and we would not put it in a hot dryer to find out.
A buyer wrote to a Chinese complaint platform that an MLB official flagship purchase looked fine out of the bag, went straight into the wash, and had shrunk severely by the time they wore it again a month later; customer service, they said, only repeated that it was past warranty.
Weight, hand and print
At 191 to 196 g in a size L, this is a mid-weight jersey — heavy enough that the white 910 is not see-through under indoor light, light enough to layer under an open jacket without bulk. The print sits flat across the chest with no perceptible ridge, and after five days of ordinary wear across two editors we saw no cracking at the edges of the motif. We cannot speak to the hundredth wash; five days is five days.
The loose fit is real but not extreme. Our L measured 55 cm across the chest, which gave roughly two fingers of ease on a 96 cm chest and hung cleanly from the shoulder. The regular sleeve and round neck keep the silhouette ordinary, which is the point of a tee you wear to the shops.
Sizing: two credible reports pointing opposite ways
Buyer accounts of MLB-branded apparel disagree, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. One long-time resale commenter describes the brand's clothing as running loose relative to standard sizing, which matches our L. Another buyer with a Nike-made MLB tee said an L wearer needed an XL. Both can be true across different production lines, and neither replaces a measurement. Since the listing publishes no chest figures, our advice is to measure a tee you already like and compare against the flat numbers for the code you are buying.
Where the $7.91 goes
The listed price is $7.91 against an original $8.45, and availability is marked in stock. That is unusually cheap for a 100% cotton printed tee, and the money saved is partly spent on the buying process: agent fees, consolidation and international shipping are not in that figure, and colorway choice matters because three codes have no white twin. Order a black and a white from the same code if you want a matched pair, and expect the parcel to weigh more than the single tee you originally wanted.
What we can confirm after handling three colorways is narrower than the TikTok videos suggest, and more useful: this is a mid-weight cotton crewneck with a printed motif, a genuinely loose cut, and no care instructions anywhere in the listing. The cotton is real. The antibacterial wording is a catalog line with nothing behind it. The size you receive depends on whether you read the flat measurements carefully, because nobody on the selling side has written them down for you.
