The TikTok pitch is simple: a Represent Angel graphic crew for $7.76. We ordered SKU 7715699507 — the black wordmark variant, marked down from $9.26 — in sizes S, M and L, and put it through the same run we give any claim-driven garment: first open filmed, contents weighed against the listing, then five days of ordinary wear split between two editors.
What we were really testing was not whether a cheap tee exists. It was whether this one behaves like the combed-cotton, 180–250gsm, loose-cut crew the listing describes. Most of it does. The parts that do not are worth knowing before you pick a variant code off a wall of sixty.
What the listing promises, and what the parcel had
The listing specifies a pullover crew in combed cotton, listed at 180g–250g (exclusive), regular thickness, short sleeves, a loose fit, and breathability as the material function. It also lists a non-iron finish and 2024 summer as the season of release. Sizes run S to XL; colours span the plain wordmark range (black, white, blue, green, pink, light blue) plus dozens of coded variants such as R3011, R447, REP-866 and R3023.
Inside the parcel: three tees, no hangtag with fibre content, no care label beyond a small printed neck stamp, and no paperwork. That is normal for this channel and it means the composition claim is a listing claim, not something we could confirm from a label. Our fibre microscope showed a consistent single-ply cotton knit with no obvious synthetic sheen, which is consistent with combed cotton but does not prove the combing step.
Weighing the 180–250gsm window
The listing gives a weight range rather than a figure, so we put each tee on the calibrated scale before wearing:
| Size | Measured garment weight | Chest (pit to pit, flat) | Body length (HPS to hem) |
|---|---|---|---|
| S | 182 g | 52 cm | 68 cm |
| M | 199 g | 55 cm | 71 cm |
| L | 214 g | 58 cm | 73 cm |
All three landed inside the stated band, and the 7 cm chest step from S to L matches the "loose" descriptor rather than the trim cut some buyers expect from a graphic tee. Notably, the listing's own weight field reads 0.00 kg, so the parcel weight had to come from our scale, not theirs.
The collar rib, pulled ten times
Collars are where cheap crews declare themselves. We measured a 2.2 cm rib on all three sizes, single-row stitching at the neck seam, and no shoulder taping visible through the inside of the neck. Each tee went through ten cycles of 20 percent stretch across the collar opening, released and re-measured 60 seconds later.
After ten cycles the S and M recovered to within 4 mm of their original opening; the L, worn the most over the five days, sat 6 mm wider. Two editors wore the tees for full days including one warm afternoon outdoors each, and neither reported the collar rolling or standing away from the neck. For a tee at this price that is the strongest result in the review.
The print: footprint, and the brand's own warning
The wordmark plus small angel elements measured 24.1 cm across and 6.8 cm tall on the M. Registration was clean on all three, with no offset or haloing at the edges of the letterforms, and the ink sits flat rather than as a raised plastic patch.
What we cannot promise is that it stays that way. Represent's own product copy for its Angel graphics is explicit:
Each Piece Will Age Uniquely – Cracked Print May Lose Ink Over Time
That statement is about the brand's retail Angel prints, not this exact sample, but it is the closest authoritative guidance available and we treat it as a material caution rather than a flaw we observed. Over five days and two cold washes we saw no cracking. A five-day window cannot settle a claim that is measured in months.
Fit: two editors, one loose block
Both editors are medium wearers. Editor A (178 cm) kept the M and found the shoulder seam sitting slightly off the shoulder, which is the intended look. Editor B (170 cm) preferred the S, matching the community pattern: Represent buyers on r/Representclothing describe the tees as roomy, with several medium wearers taking a small. The counter-evidence matters too — one video reviewer who sized down reported the fit as "a little bit tight," so the size chart, not the anecdote, is the safer instrument.
We also noted a small asymmetry worth flagging: the L hem measured 1.1 cm shorter at the side seam than at the centre back, a cut difference rather than a shrink, since it was present out of the parcel.
One close alternative, side by side
Our comparison reference is the retail Represent Angel Border tee, the garment this listing borrows its graphic language from. We did not put a retail unit through the same wash and stretch run, so the columns below compare published specifications and our measurements, not identical tests.
| Listing sample (SKU 7715699507) | Retail Represent Angel tee | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $7.76 USD | Brand retail, several times higher |
| Fabric claim | Combed cotton, 180–250gsm | Not stated in the copy we checked |
| Cut | Loose, crew, regular sleeve | Boxy/oversized, crew |
| Colourways | Five plain tones plus dozens of coded variants | A limited seasonal run |
| Print durability | Unverified; brand notes cracked prints lose ink | Same brand warning applies |
| Size spread | S–XL | Broader run including larger sizes |
The honest read: the retail tee buys you a limited colourway and a documented size run. This listing buys you the same visual idea at a fraction of the cost, with a coded variant system you have to decode from photos and a narrower size ladder.
Care, and what the listing does not say
There was no care label in the parcel, so we defaulted to the brand's published guidance for its tees: wash inside out at 30°C and skip the tumble dryer. Both editors line-dried. After two washes at 30°C the tees showed light fold-line creasing; the listed non-iron treatment softened it but did not eliminate it, and we would not plan on skipping an iron before anything smarter than a supermarket run.
What we could not verify
- Whether every one of the sixty-plus variant codes corresponds to the images shown — we checked three and two matched.
- Long-term print behaviour beyond five days and two washes.
- Fibre content by label; the composition is a listing claim only.
- True fabric weight in grams per square metre, which requires a fabric cutter we do not use on wear samples.
Measure a tee you already like against our table before you choose a size, and treat the print as a wearing finish rather than a permanent one. On those terms, the $7.76 ask buys a genuinely comfortable, well-shaped summer crew.
